Book your learn to surf lesson on the Gold Coast with Reagan from 1st Wave Surf School Main Beach. Surf lessons are scheduled daily throughout the morning with the afternoons usually reserved for stand up paddle hire and introduction lessons.

Surf lessons are scheduled during the morning as this is when the surf conditions on the Gold Coast are the best. Private lessons are scheduled first with a preferred lesson time of 7.30am and then the beginners group learn to surf lesson is scheduled at 10am. All equipment is provided for you during your surf lesson and included in the price.

The location for the First Wave Surf School is at the Southport Surf Lifesaving Club, Macathur Parade, Main Beach, this is situated on the northern end of the Gold Coast approx 5 minutes drive north from Surfers Paradise or a few minutes south from Seaworld at the Spit. Main Beach also has a trendy cafe scene at Tedder Avenue or you could do some high end fashion shopping at the Marina Mirage Shopping Centre. Main Beach is accessible by the G-Link tram or coming by car there is plenty of free parking along the beachfront and near the surf club.

BROADBEACH CONVENTION SURFBOARD HIRE

If you are going to a corporate convention at the Gold Coast Convention Centre Broadbeach make sure you organise your surfboard hire with us. If you are staying at Broadbeach we can deliver a rental surfboard to your accommodation and pick it up from you or if you're are staying in one of the hotels with a concierge desk we can deal with them.  There are many hotels and accommodation options at Broadbeach, some of the most popular are Jupiters Casino, Meriton Serviced Apartments, Peppers Resort in the Oracle, Aria, Sierra Grand, Beach Haven Holiday Apartments, Hotel Sofitel, Ultra Broadbeach, Diamond Cove Resort, The Waves Resort, Breakfree Broadbeach and many more.

A 3 day surfboard hire will cost you $80, this will allow you to sneak out for an early surf before sitting through an all day convention. we take all the hassle out of it for you, you probably can't bring your surfboard because it's an official work trip, even if you could it's going to cost you approx $160. You can hire / rent a surfboard and have it delivered to you at your accommodation in Main Beach, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach or Burleigh Heads. The cost of a rental surfboard on the Gold Coast varies but general prices are around $50 for a day up to $150 for a week. The difference between surfboard hire businesses is that some will delivery a surfboard to you for free and others you will have to go to a shop and pick it up. Some businesses will only supply soft beginner surfboards while others will have a range of fibreglass surfboards.

The First Wave Surf School Main Beach is a mobile business that is owner operated by local surfers who were born and bred on the Gold Coast. Co-owner and founder Reags has spent his whole life hanging on the Gold Coast beaches, and the last 15 years sharing his knowledge and love of surfing with beginner surfers who join him for a surfing lesson. BROADBEACH STAND UP PADDLE (SUP) HIRE

If you would like to hire a stand up paddle board (SUP) in Broadbeach you will have to travel north to Budds Beach in Surfers Paradise or south to Tallebudgera or Currumbin, unfortunately there is no regular location for sup hire in Broadbeach.

Although there is plenty of calm waterways around the Jupiters Casino, Gold Coast Convention Centre, Pacific Fair and cascade gardens these waterways are very tidal and can be difficult for first time paddlers, Budds Beach is only a short drive or quick G-Link tram ride to the north, hop of at the Cypress Street Station and walk 5 minutes west to River Drive, Budds Beach. There are a few stand up paddle hire businesses that use this location and most meet opposite the Bumbles Cafe. However you will have to phone and book your stand up paddle hire and there is no permanent shop or hire business.

Budds Beach provides and excellent stand up paddle location, the water is calm and protected from strong winds and tides, it receives sunshine all day long and provides an excellent sunset.
