The cost of a rental surfboard on the Gold Coast varies but general prices are around $50 for a day up to $150 for a week. The difference between surfboard hire businesses is that some will delivery a surfboard to you for free and others you will have to go to a shop and pick it up. Some businesses will only supply soft beginner surfboards while others will have a range of fibreglass surfboards.

BROADBEACH STAND UP PADDLE (SUP) HIRE

If you would like to hire a stand up paddle board (SUP) in Broadbeach you will have to travel north to Budds Beach in Surfers Paradise or south to Tallebudgera or Currumbin, unfortunately there is no regular location for sup hire in Broadbeach.

Although there is plenty of calm waterways around the Jupiters Casino, Gold Coast Convention Centre, Pacific Fair and cascade gardens these waterways are very tidal and can be difficult for first time paddlers, Budds Beach is only a short drive or quick G-Link tram ride to the north, hop of at the Cypress Street Station and walk 5 minutes west to River Drive, Budds Beach. There are a few stand up paddle hire businesses that use this location and most meet opposite the Bumbles Cafe. However you will have to phone and book your stand up paddle hire and there is no permanent shop or hire business.

The hottest sport this summer is going to be stand up paddle (SUP) boarding. SUP is sweeping across the world as a easy, fun, social and healthy activity. After running stand up paddle hire and lessons in Surfers Paradise for 5 years now I have seen the popularity grow in huge numbers. Because any one can stand on SUP and be doing it within 5 minutes makes SUP hire a great activity, just give us a call, hire a board for an hour for $20 and you will have the best time.  Stand Up Paddle is done in the calm waters around Surfers Paradise, it is not done in the ocean and waves, this is what makes it easy, the boards are designed to be very stable and user friendly, you'll be surprised that you can just step on after some basic pointers and off you. We have two locations we prefer to hire the SUP's from, River Drive, Budds Beach and Macintosh Island, Main Beach these area's are protected from the strong winds and tides and are also great for kids.

It's hard to believe but it's not that easy to hire a good quality surfboard on the Gold Coast. There are a few surf schools and surf shops that do rent surfboards in Surfers Paradise, Mermaid Beach and Burleigh Heads but you might be stuck on a beginner soft board or they might only rent it for a couple of hours. If you would like to hire a good quality mini mal, fish, malibu or performance short board for the duration of your stay we can help you out.

Stand Up paddle board hire Gold Coast and Surfers Paradise

 

We have a range of stand up paddle boards for hire and you can hire a sup for 1 hour of the entire day. We have two locations where you can hire a stand up paddle board on the Gold Coast but check with us first as we choose the location depending on the wind and weather.

You can hire a stand up paddle board at Budds Beach, just near Surfers Paradise and prices start from $20 for a 1 hour hire. We are usually available in the afternoons but check with us if you would like a morning SUP hire.

Our Macintosh Island / Narrowneck SUP hire location offers calm water and is located between Surfers Paradise and Main Beach on the northern end of the Gold Coast. This is a great spot as it has nice shaded parklands, kids playground, free BBQ's and toilets, ample free parking and is directly across the road from the surf beach, so you get the best of both worlds, nice calm water protected from strong winds to stand up paddle but you can also have a swim or surf in the waves across the road at narrowneck surfing beach.

There are other popular spots to hire a stand up paddle board on the Gold Coast. The hot Spots on the southern Gold Coast being Currumbin at the boat shed and also Tallebudgera.
